Project Proposal Residency V edition: application deadline 4th September 2017

Description: The purpose of the project is to give hospitality to artists and curators for a short/medium period and offer them accommodation and relations aimed to develop artistic researches both practical and theoretical. The residency is conceived as a meeting and work place where share ideas and experiences.
The artists/curators in residence will be asked to work on a project proposal which will be produced during their staying and to share it with The Blank.
At the beginning of the residency residents will introduce themselves to the community with an informal presentation of their previous activities and works. The residency period concludes with an Open Studio day and the presentation of the project proposal developed during their staying.
A maximum of 2 artists/curators will be selected among the applicants who will share accommodation, studio, kitchen and bathroom.
Eligibility: The program is open to artists or curators at any stage of their career, working in visual arts, photography, film & video, media arts.
Language: Italian/English/French/Spanish
Location: The Blank residency, Via Quarenghi 50, Bergamo, Italy
Disciplines: Visual Arts (including environmental art & installation), Photography, Moving Image, Sculpture, Performance.
Paid by Host: Artist’s fee of 400 €, accommodation (bedroom and fully furnished kitchen), studio space and internet wifi
Paid by Artist/Curator: Residents are responsible for their travel, working materials, food and personal expenses during the residency.

The selections will be announced by 11th Sept 2017
The residency is intended as professional development opportunities for contemporary artists.
Project proposals and letter of motivation (included in the application form) are the basis for all selections.
