GUILMIARTPROJECT

GuilmiArtProject (GAP) is residency program in the village of Guilmi (Ch). Its promoters invite artists in their houses located in the city center of the village in order to set up a multilevel and multilayered dialogue with it, and its community. Contextually GAP promots “collateral effects” (feasts, workshops, popular didactic activities, walkings, and collective meals), addressed to the develop a program of sharing of experiences with the community of Guilmi. The village has revealed to be the perfect place to experiment vast themes in small scale, where to each single stimulus corresponds a reaction; where to experiment contemporary art in responsible and sustainable modalities; where art is the means to analyze social, historical, anthropological, contexts and landscape. When the artist accepts the invitation from GAP, he becomes the carrier of the empiric research, essential to this residency. GAP is intentionally no-project based, in order to promote a continue research and discovery to share with the village.
