LOKALEN Artist in Residence – Open Call 2019/2020

13 August 2019

At ease
At Lokalen, it is offered a peaceful, open space in a green work environment. The studios are situated in a residential area in the rural village of Lichtenvoorde in the east of the Netherlands. You can get to the countryside by foot or bike within five minutes and get inspired by your surroundings. Next to that, there are some interesting museums within cycling distance (Villa Mondriaan, Winterswijk and Museum MORE in Gorssel and Ruurlo).

Open Studio/Exposition
At the end of your Artist in Residence term, it will be offered you a chance to showcase the work or the progress you have made at Lokalen with an Open Studio.

Lokalen
It is being offered professional artists a space to work, sleep, research and create. Time and a place to empty your mind and develop your project. Lokalen was founded in 2017 and is situated in an old primary school, where all classrooms are occupied by a variety of creative entrepreneurs, active in design, art, events, culture and society. Due to the success of its Artist in Residence project over the years, it has decided to continue this in 2019 and 2020.

Studio
You will share your studio with one other (local) artist. This will create opportunities for interesting collaborations between local artists and artists from abroad. Next to that the central hall is useable as a canteen and meeting room where you can mingle with the other creative entrepreneurs in the building.

Collaborations
You can sign up for the Artist in Residence programme as an individual or as a group.
