Corniolo is a residency program for artists and independent, self-run organizations operating in the field of contemporary art and social practice. Our goal is to provide a place for organizations to workshop and to develop a continuing research activity.
Through the residency formula the Corniolo environment becomes a place where to generate a dialogue and where to confront the different ways in which several related cultural associations that are yet separated by geography do operate.
The Villa Corniolo is located in central Italy, near the village of Mucciano, in the Mugello province. The location lies within 30 minute from Florence and 45 minutes from Bologna, at the foothill of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennine mountains.
The villa – which is is surrounded by a centuries-old park that also is available for use during residency – will provide 4 artist studio spaces and 5 large bedrooms for a maximum of 10 artists/guests at a time.
A conference room/dining room and a full kitchen is also available on the premises.
The guest organization will also have access to a second apartment complex with 2 bedrooms, 2 private bathrooms, living room and kitchen.
