OPEN CALL V_AIR VIMERCATE ART IN RESIDENCE : DIALOGUES WITH CATASTROPHE.
The Department of Culture of the Municipal Council of Vimercate (Italy, Lombardy region) is offering the annual residency programme V_AIR for 2021, to promote contemporary art and support the artistic production.
The artist residency select up to 6 projects by young artists, aged between 19 and 35, working in the field of visual arts (painting, sculpture, graphic design, performance, photography, video, installation) who will then be assigned a studio in the local museum MUST Museum of the territory of Vimercate in which to create their works for a period of 3 weeks from 3 to 23 May 2021. The theme for the winning artists’ works will be “DIALOGUES WITH CATASTROPHE. Considerations, practices and visions for rebirth ”.
At the end of the residency, an exhibition dedicated to the production will be presented in the spaces of MUST Museum. During the residency artists will live as guests of the Municipality of Vimercate, which will provide each artist with lodgings and a lump sum of € 1.800,00 (included 20% taxes) for artistic production. Interested artists must submit their candidature, on pain of exclusion, not later than 12.00 pm on 12 th February 2021.
