Situated in the neighbourhood of Adliya in Bahrain, Al Riwaq Art Space is dedicated to promoting local contemporary art and design, and connecting with developments in these fields at regional and international levels.
We are a not-for-profit institution that nurtures cultural production, offers local creative opportunities to develop their practice, and provides a platform for the exchange of ideas between artists and the general public.
The gallery has been at the forefront of Bahrain’s burgeoning arts scene, and hosts a wide-ranging calendar of events including exhibitions, public art ventures, educational and outreach activities.
Al Riwaq is responsible for initiating and curating some of the most relevant, engaging events on Bahrain’s arts scene. These include “Alwan” (an annual art and design festival), and Market338 (an annual platform for designers and creative entrepreneurs).
With its strong emphasis on public art and community engagement, Al Riwaq Art Space acts as major local hub for the Bahraini public, promoting creativity and artistic expression especially among the youth.
Al Riwaq Art Space aims to establish a platform for artists and the public to exchange ideas, provoke intellectual debate, promote, encourage, and develop creative thinking and nurture cultural production.
