CARS is an artists residency founded by Andrea Ruschetti (young patron of FARO Toys) and Lorenza Boisi (founder and director of MARS) as an evolution of MARS.
The residency lasts a month (June/July) and offers two artists (individual or a group of maximum four artists):
- accomodation
- studio (100 mq)
- technical support to the production, according to the local crafts (plastic manifacturing, ceramic, wood turnery and steel manifacturing).
Every year (between september and october) CARS - wonderful white cube of industrial archaeology - shows the results of the summer residencies with a schedule chosen by the artists.
The residents are selected by a scientific committee depending on two principles:
- a resident selected between the artists which have taken part to all the editions of MARS,
- a resident chosen from all the applicants.
The artists are invited to donate a work to CARS in order to create a collection which evidences the story of CARS and enhances the local territory.
